1946-48 , Rickenbacker (Rickenbacher) B-6 Lap Steel "Panda" OHSC

Here we have an Icon of electric lap steel guitar, from the Southern Cali maker who Invented the electric guitar. And this one is thier 2rd generation "B" model. The prewar Rickenbacher steel "Frying pan", was the very first electric guitar available and this Newer Model featured an upgraded construction of Bakelite and steel with the steel having baked automotive enamel, this distinctive looking series was instantly dubbed "The Panda" by collectors.  This guitar and case are freshly cleaned up and strung with Monel 13-56, and while I don't really play lap steel, Anyone can tell this thing sounds GREAT!
Rickenbacher has always been a So Cali Company, But Mr Rickenbacher emmigrated fron Austria in 1925, and soon after changed his last name to the Americanized spelling Rickenbacker.
Overall I've seen very few of these. This particular one is the cleanest one I've ever  seen! The pickup and controls  sound fabulous together. I will also include a very old "Aloha" Bar and a couple of ancient National nickel  picks, one thumb, one finger.
If there is a better one out there I don't know where!

I had originally listed this as a "Pre War" but I was wrong about that. There is conflicting info about these Non--Serialized instruments.   Sorry for the confusion, but the tone this thing has is as good as I've ever heard and its condition is amazing.
