Reverse: Depicts an American Eagle similar in design to official U.S. Gold coins.

Central America shipwreck.This coin was minted in 2002 from .935 Fine California Gold taken from a Justh & Hunter gold ingot which was salvaged from the famous S.S. Central America shipwreck. PCGS Deep Cameo Proof. This piece displays an original vibrant gold luster, excellent sharp details and dark mirror like fields. A total of 4,006 pieces were struck from 7 gold ingots.
Restrikes of the famous Forty-Niner Horseman, each Gold Proof was struck from more than a half-ounce of gold assayed in 1857 by Justh & Hunter. A California Gold Rush company that bought gold directly from the local miners.
